Palliative Care

Our palliative care aims to maintain and where possible, improve quality of life for residents and their families. During this difficult and upsetting time, our dedicated staff will ensure the utmost dignity, respect and care is provided.

At Tupwood we our aim is to:

Affirm life and regard dying as a normal process
Provide relief from pain and other distressing symptoms
Integrate the psychological and spiritual aspects of patient care
Offer a support system to help patients live as actively as possible until death
Offer a support system to help the family cope during the patient's illness and in their own bereavement

Tupwood Gate Nursing Home has accreditation for the Gold Standards Framework for Care Homes (GSFCH). The GSFCH is a widely recognised tool for measuring the standard of care for ALL people nearing the end of their life by creating a quality assurance tool for quality improvement and quality recognition.
