Activities & Events

TableyAt Tupwood Gate Nursing Home we offer a wide range of activities to cater for all tastes and interests.

Keeping active is important for all-round health – so our expert recreational therapist is on hand five days a week to help with activities such as crafts, letter writing and reading newspapers as well as “pampering” tasks such as manicures and pedicures.

We regularly hold meetings with all the residents to keep them informed of future events and changes as well as distributing a newsletter publishing the dates of forthcoming events so that they are able to choose which interest them.

May at Tupwood

Recently we had a fun afternoon when Nathan Rhodes, the entertainer, came to give us a sing-song with all the residents’ favourite tunes.

We are really enjoying our beautiful garden now that the weather is warmer and the sun is shining. Some of the residents are enjoying doing a little gardening and transplanting our runner beans outside which are growing well.

Yesterday the residents enjoyed a game of ‘pitch and put’ on the lawn, which was great fun.

A Seminar was recently held at Tupwood for relatives and interested people on the use of drugs in dementia, this was well attended and very informative.

We are looking forward to two more afternoons of entertainment later this month. On Monday 19th May, Mr Kerr from Rowland Brothers will be coming to talk to us on the theme of “A woman’s place is in the ...” and on Thursday, 22nd May, Tony’s Musical Tune Factory will be here.

Our usual monthly visit from the East Surrey Museum is always eagerly anticipated, and enjoyed by all.
